PaudurHill (Khare) Raptor Migration Update 7 Oct – Day 22

Today the weather was mostly sunny and south wind-- average speed of 6 km/hr. The earlier migrants are continuing their flight however we are not experiencing exciting flight this is because Steppe Eagles are the most numerous migrants here and we are still waiting Second Eagle of the season.  Today we saw two adult Himalayan Vulture (very-very pale)—might be migrating to the west, however the sub-adult Himalayan Vultures are migrating towards south and they winter in the various lowland parts of Nepal. Two juvenile (first Year) Red-headed Vultures were also seen with lot of white on the abdomen, the head was also much whitish in color. In this time we don’t have barn swallows but lot of Red-rumped swallows (Today more than 1000) are continuing their flight.
