PaudurHill (Khare) Raptor Migration Update 22 Oct – Day 37

Today the weather was mostly clear but cloud over the northern mountains. The cloud couldn’t able to push the birds much south, therefore most of the birds were towards the northern ridge. The dominating species was the Oriental Honey Buzzard (22 birds) that is followed by Steppe Eagles (16 birds).  Today we got the first Greater Spotted Eagle, which was very close to the watch site. It was good to compare with Steppe Eagle because both were circling together for a while. I wrote before saying about first Greater Spotted Eagle actually this bird is confirmed as Indian Spotted Eagle after having a discussion with Tim Inskipp because I was able to take a picture on that day which shows the complete profile. Today we didn’t get more flock of Amur and Lesser kestrels because the weather is more clear today to spread over a wide range. Other migrants were Booted Eagle, Eurassian Hobby, Amur falcon, Hen Harrier, Common Buzzards.
