Despite their importance, over 50% of raptors in Nepal are either threatened or near-threatened. Nepal Raptor Conservation Project is led by Dr Tulsi Subedi and his team for the research and conservation of threatened, declining and least-known raptors as a goal to develop capacity for raptor conservation and to reverse the population decline of raptors in Nepal and the entire Himalayas region.

21 Oct 2018, My colleague Sandesh has begun migration count at Thoolakharka watch site, Nepal. This year we could set up the count little late so that we couldn't meet up our first Steppe Eagle, which is likely to come our watch site between 7 to 12 October. Based on our previous count, it is likely we missed to say Goodbye to approximately 50 (range: 10 - 110) Steppies. Dear friends and supporters, warm greetings
on behalf of Raptors of Nepal Team!
Raptor of Nepal is a Raptor Studies Group
in Nepal under Nepalese Ornithological Union (www.birdsofnepal.org). In Nepal, raptor
study is a young field of research. Since 2011, Raptors of Nepal has started
intensive study on diurnal birds of prey species throughout the country. In

First of all, my apologize for not posting updates regularly. Now I will have more time and make regular updates if I got something interesting.
In this post I am pleased to inform you about Indian Spotted Eagle project. By: Simon Thomsett
For this trip it seemed essential that I should gather whatever Nordic looks I may have and be prepared to assume a steely distant stare when summiting mountain tops, the kind adopted by those who conquer Everest and wear Rolex watches.
It was important too that I grew a beard, for the ice crystals that would form there and that I wore reflecting sunglasses. Now I am pleased to inform you about the current project on Bearded Vulture. I am doing a GPS telemetry project on Bearded Vulture in the Himalaya of Nepal. It was expected to go down the number of migrating eagles with the changing of weather into more sunny however we are having around 200 eagles per day. After many days of constant sun the weather pattern broken and we have more cloudy days since last three days. In the morning the Himalayas almost clear and quickly clouds build up due to the cooling up of saturated air. This making a weather better for the migration. In the last two days Steppe eagle Migration is really peaking up (around 2200 Eagle passed in last two days)- mostly adult birds Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7617481545041871850.post-26638009783659683342013-11-15T18:22:00.000+05:452013-11-15T18:22:50.520+05:45Raptor Migration Summary- Thoolakharka Nepal, 15 Nov, 2013
